Teens who don’t know where else to go are always welcome at our shelters; all they have to do is show up. SafeHouse of the Desert provides immediate help to youth and families experiencing crisis situations. When families come to us, they’re usually at their wit’s end—parents are frustrated and children don’t know where to turn. Our staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for teens and their families who need help negotiating the often challenging road from childhood to independent adult life.
Our 20-bed shelter is well equipped to handle runaway, homeless, and other youth in crisis ages 11-17. Shelter services include; 21-days of individual, group, and family counseling, on-site education, substance abuse education, skills lab, and aftercare.
Parents who are interested in early intervention are encouraged to call us to set up a screening for their child. A Marriage and Family Therapist will guide them through program expectations and what the family as a whole will receive from our holistic approach to crisis intervention.
Just need to talk? What’s Up SafeHouse is our new downloadable phone App, provides anonymous text-communication, 24 /7 with a licensed mental health professional from SafeHouse. Young people who are struggling with drug or alcohol abuse, depression, difficult family situations, bullying and other issues can receive help, while maintaining anonymity. Youth and parents are also encouraged text about their friend/child they feel may be struggling or are in danger.
Download the app or text our toll-free number 844.204.0880 to text with a trained counselor.
Our goal is to open the lines of communication and build hope that things CAN get better—trust CAN be rebuilt, and reunification CAN be achieved!
We’re here for families in crisis, every hour of every day.
